Woodworking Project - Desk Shelving Unit
Back to the Rolling "M" Workshop Projects Page

An old friend of mine, Lee "Harvey", found a large oak office desk for me at an auction for just $10. The only problem was that I already had a large steel office desk with a set of shelves made by another friend of mine several years earlier. Shari suggested a solution that gave me a new project to build. She suggested that I move into the new oak desk and she would take over the old steel desk. She also suggested that if I wanted a set of shelves like my old desk, I should just build a set to match the new desk. So, that's exactly what I did. The desk shelving unit is made of 1x8 #2 pine with a luan back. The unit is 36'h x 60"w x 7-1/4"d and is finished with Minwax Red Mahogany stain and top coated with gloss polyurethane to match the color of the desk.
