Woodworking Project - Foot Stool
Back to the Rolling "M" Workshop Projects Page
One Saturday morning, I received a call from my father, asking if I would help him build a foot stool for my mother's kitchen. Here's what we came up with. Mom and Dad recently began redecorating their kitchen and Mom wanted a replacement for her old rickety foot stool to match the kitchen's new white w/blue color scheme. She liked the design of the old stool, but it was made entirely of plywood, so it had a tendency to absorb spilled liquids and was difficult to keep clean. Dad and I used the old stool as a template, but we made our version out of laminated chip board (top and sides) and 3/4" plywood (ends). The laminate has a rippled tread pattern, but is smooth enough to provide for easy cleaning.
