Woodworking Project - Kitchen Cabinets
Back to the Rolling "M" Workshop Projects Page
The old maple cabinets in the kitchen of the Ranch are more tolerable than most, but they weren't high quality cabinets when they were installed in the seveties and they are begining to show their age. When we finally got around to replacing the electic wall oven and range top with a free-standing gas stove, we were left with a large hole in one of the cabinets were the wall oven once lived. This set the wheels in motion. For now, I am building just a wall cabinet and base cabinet to replace the old oven cabinet. Eventually, we intend to replace all of the kitchen cabinetry with new matching units. The new cabinets are a traditional oak face frame and raised panel style. The cases are constructed of 3/4" oak plywood with solid oak face frames and doors.
