Our chapter was in attendance at the Corvette Classic, held in
Bloomington, Illinois on June 18, 19, 2005.

CGRC member Dennis Fontana drove
all the way from his home in Southern
Illinois. He reported that he had no
problems at all. We had a good chit-
chat, but soon enough it was road
tour time.
We went on a 43
mile road tour,
ending at the Furrow Winery in
El Paso, Illinois. Here is the
parking area. It's easy to make
new friends at a Corvette event.
The
road tour went through
Lexington, Illinois. As you
can see, Route 66 is still
a viable highway in places.
One of those places just
happens to be smack dab in
the middle of CGRC territory.
Not to brag, of course.

For what its' worth, here's my two cents... Event Coordinator Gary Wood is
doing a great job
of bringing Bloomington back home to Corvetters. This wasn't the biggest
show that I have
ever attended, but it was right up there in friendliness. The road tour
was one of the better
ones that I have ever been on., and the winery was a blast. The event this
year was held at one
end of an outlet mall. The restrooms were clean, the building air-conditioned,
and there were
vendors and show cars and drivers. I missed Friday night's events, but
hey, I work. The food
vendors had good cuisine and the soft drinks were really ice cold. I am
really hoping that more CGRC
members attend next year's show.
