July 4, 2005
CGRC Sponsored parade entry,
Jacksonville, Illinois.

July the 4th, Jacksonville,
Illinois.  We wanted lots
of Vettes, so we invited
every local Vette that
we could think of.  All
in all we had 14 cars.
The sponsors of the parade put us in the back
because they said "You
are the finale."  How's
that for cool...

Here's the whole
gang.  A lot of us
didn't know each
other until this parade.
It's easy to make
friends when it's
all plastic fanatics.

When we got to the
end of the parade route,
we motored over to
a restaurant.  No sooner
had we arrived, when
it started to shower.
So it didn't actually rain
on our parade, but it
came awfully close!!

And here's a pic that I was able to obtain
from the Jacksonville Journal-Courier, our
local newspaper.  As is the solemn custom,
it was solid axles in the front, in order of
age, followed by floppy axles, also in order
of age. (In one case it was the lower VIN
going first.)  Here you see Max and Mary
Rae Brockhouse leading the Vettes down
the parade route.
